VISTAS Non-Profit Newspaper Inc. is a volunteer-run community newspaper that is in its fourth decade of production. It provides engaging and informative articles, letters, announcements by and for local residents.
All editorial contributions are voluntary. VISTAS’ publication is ad-supported.
Overview
- Monthly printed newspaper with 10 issues per year (except July and August)
- 40 or 44 pages per issue with approximately 60 per cent editorial and 40 per cent advertisements.
- Circulation 9,300 delivered to homes in Alta Vista, Canterbury, Guildwood, Riverview Park, and Ellwood. Bulk delivery to selected businesses in the community.
- Black and white and colour ads are available on a first-come-first-served basis. Ad placement is at the discretion of VISTAS.
Ad submission deadline
- Ads are due by the 12th of the month preceding publication. Advertisers who wish to repeat their ad need to confirm this by the 12th unless they have already done so.
Ad submission requirements
- Advertisers shall submit files of print-ready artwork (sized for placement at 300 DPI or greater)
by email to: advertising@vistas-news.ca
- Please name ad file as: Company name_Ad Size_Colour or BW_month/year (of desired publication)
This submission must include:
- Advertiser name and/or business name
- Email address and phone number of primary contact
- Ad size (see below)
- Specification if ad is to be printed black & white or colour. If an ad is submitted in colour it will be printed on a colour page (and associated cost) unless specified that it should be printed in black & white.
- Issue placement (specify the month or months desired)
The advertising manager will check the ad (i.e., suitability, typos, functional QR codes) before submitting to layout. Any anomalies will be communicated to the advertiser.
Billing
Once the ad has run in VISTAS, the VISTAS treasurer will invoice the advertiser by email. The invoice will specify the business name and/or advertiser name, ad size/colour, and rate as well as the issue and page number where the ad is published.
